Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
This policy says what BuddyBuffer keeps about you, why, for how long, and who helps us run it. BuddyBuffer is run by Jameul Islam in Bangladesh, who is responsible for your data.
What we keep
If you make an account: your email, the name you choose, your plan and how many video hours you’ve used this month. If you pay: the IDs our payment provider gives us, never your card. If you upload: the video and its details (name, size, when). To stop abuse we keep keyed hashes of network addresses, never the addresses themselves.
What we don’t keep
Chat exists only while a party runs and is gone when it ends. Voice, video and shared screens are never recorded. Guests who join with a link need only a name, and we keep nothing that connects one party a guest joined to another. Our server logs hold no IP addresses.
Why we use it
To give you what you asked for: your account, your parties, your uploads and your plan. To keep BuddyBuffer safe and working, and to stop abuse, which is our legitimate interest. And to meet the law, such as keeping tax records. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Reports
When someone reports a participant, they can choose to include that person’s last chat messages (at most 20). Our moderators see that snapshot, and it’s deleted after 90 days unless the law requires us to keep it.
Analytics
Our analytics set no cookies and store nothing on your device. Each page is counted under a random ID that’s new every time a page loads, never your account. They record which pages and features are used and how well videos play, never your name, email, chat or files.
How long we keep things
Uploads: until your plan’s time for them runs out. Party records: 13 months after the party. Usage records: 25 months. Resolved reports: 24 months. Billing records: as long as tax law requires. When you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days, and our encrypted backups age out 35 days later. If we close an account for breaking the terms, we keep a keyed hash of its email for 3 years so it can’t come straight back.
Where it’s processed
Our database is in the United States, Cloudflare serves BuddyBuffer from data centres around the world, and we run it from Bangladesh. When your data moves between countries, our providers protect it under their data protection terms, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses where those apply.
Your rights
You can download your data, change your name, or delete your account from your account page, or ask us at support@buddybuffer.com. You can also ask us to correct your data, or object to how we use it, and complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
BuddyBuffer isn’t for anyone under 13, or under 16 in the European Union or the European Economic Area. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
